30+ years of experience in financial, restructuring and turnaround advisory services and was appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice as a Chapter 7 Trustee in 2003.

 

Specializes in helping private equity funds wind down portfolio companies that are operationally

inactive and/or financially insolvent in ways that maximize the value of assets and mitigate risks for the business, its directors, officers, and shareholders, and the fund itself.

 

Focuses on the key steps necessary to maximize value, fulfill corporate and legal obligations, and reduce risks through the wind-down process with companies.

 

Panel receiver of the collection unit for the Security and Exchange Commission.

 

Served as Liquidating Trustee, Plan Administrator, Interim Manager, Board Member, Chief Restructuring Officer, Court Appointed Receiver, and numerous other fiduciary roles in Federal and State Court.

Developed an application that revolutionized the way law enforcement and the defense industry analyze and share data. This application pushed boundaries in identifying, analyzing, and resolving crime series and patterns.

BAIR Analytics was formed shortly after that and grew to have thousands of police agencies, the Department of Defense, and major retailers such as Walmart, Macy’s, and Target, using its software and analytical techniques to fight crime and neutralize insurgents on the battlefield. LexisNexis acquired BAIR Analytics in 2015.

Expertise includes artificial intelligence, business strategy, statistical, spatial, temporal, and behavioral analysis methods, and techniques, as well as GIS and analytical software applications.

Co-author of the book “Tactical Crime Analysis: Research and Investigation”.

Authored numerous articles and publications on crime mapping, analysis, and related topics.

Professor of Strategy for BYU and a Strategic Advisor to several technology companies.

IACA Member’s Award for “Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Crime Analysis” and the IACA Executive Board’s “Meritorious Contribution to the Mission of the International Association of Crime Analysts” award.
